Once again

So John Legend is coming back down here. This time he is coming with Corinne Bailey Rae. I really would like to go BUT after the drama at the last one and seeing how much it cost for tix, I said umm no!

However, I really would love to see Robin Thicke again. He was the opening act last time and now that he is making it big, I would love to see him ringing in a big way. He did not have room to run around and jump. I got his album after the last concert, and I must say, I really like a lot of the songs on it. I think the lyrics need some work, but something special.

H. Stern

I am a huge fan of the Howard Stern show. The picture to the left is just a little of what makes the show so great. To many people this does not seem funny, but to me it is so funny. Artie Lange's Grandma Caprio. She always has good advise for a grandson who never listens.

Is this really me?

This is so true about me:
You scored as Jin. You are an old member of a Korean Mafia. Although you seem to be a clod blooded hard working antisociopath, you have the heart of a true lover. You are loyal to your wife even sacrificed your own life for hers.

Which Lost caharacter are you?

Could this really be me?

You scored as Satanism. Your beliefs most closely resemble those of Satanism! Before you scream, do a bit of research on it. To be a Satanist, you don't actually have to believe in Satan. Satanism generally focuses upon the spiritual advancement of the self, rather than upon submission to a deity or a set of moral codes. Do some research if you immediately think of the satanic cult stereotype. Your beliefs may also resemble those of earth-based religions such as paganism.

It is 2007 and ...

Happy New Year to everyone! I had a great New Years Eve. It was very low key; I stayed home with friends and family. We ate, we drank (the most important part), we laughed, we yelled, we watched TV, we argued about technology, the ipod vs. Creative Zen and XM vs. Sirius.

It was a great night and a night to remember. How was your New Years?

What da cold!

I have the worst cold right now. There is a bug going around and I just so happen to have caught it. I was at work yesterday and all of a sudden I got this hitch in my throat and ears. I knew I was gonna be sick, so I got some wal-borne (Walgreen’s airborne knock off) from a friend and prayed to God I don’t get it. By the time I went to bed last night it was awful. I was sneezing, coughing, and just disgusted.

I am still living with the cold now and it hurts more than anything. The most upsetting part is that today is our office Christmas party and I could not eat because of this cold!

Ups and Down At the John Legend Concert

So I had this all planned out. I knew I had to go to work on the day of the concert and had requested to leave early. I would leave early, get to the venue early, and get in early so I have a nice spot to watch John sing, since it was a general admission event.

I left work at 5pm and headed down. The Traffic was horrible; make me appreciate my regular work schedule of 11am to 8pm. It took me an hour and half to get down to the venue, which was at most 20miles from work. I was still driving at 6:00pm when my boyfriend called me and told me he was on his way.

All the time driving down I was on the phone talking to my sister, who was already at the venue holding a spot for all us late comers. Then I got to the parking garage and it was cash only!!! WTF!!! I had no cash on me, so I headed to the other parking garage closer to the event (it ended up been cheaper to park there than the one I went to at first). On my way walking to the even I saw my brother-in-law who was going to park his car.

I finally got to the venue and picked up my ticked at the box office (another huge problem, thanks to ticket masters, those thieving a**holes), and ran into someone who would make the night an even worse experience. I saw my sister and was sooo happy she was there and happy about how close to the front of the line we were. We were chatting when her husband came to meet us. This was about 6:30pm when the show was supposed to start, when my boyfriend called again and said he was stuck in traffic and will be there shortly. We waited about 30mins and them he arrived, I was so happy he came too because this is not his favorite kind of music. So I am really excited now and angry because its 7:15 and we are not in yet on a work night (I know am old). Finally at about 7:25 they started letting us in. We got in and picked a spot close to the stage. Well guess who was right in front of us? The woman from the box office! Apparently she was on John Legend’s list. I was soooo hungry! And had no cash and I was not about to pay 4 bucks for taking cash out of their ATM. My boyfriend was so sweet or maybe just sick of my bitching about been hungry; he took money out of the ATM for me. I didn’t end up buying anything but saved the money for parking.

We stand around for another 30mins and then Robin Thicke comes on as the opening act. First let me say that if I knew that Robin Thicke was coming with John to the South Florida show I would have made different plans. I like Robin Thicke, I love his song “when I get you alone” but I would have come in late and made my way to the front. He was really good and I see why they always compare him to Justin Timberlake. He is really cute in person and was dancing and rocking hard! He even broke his piano from rocking so hard. Robin was on for about 30mins and then we had to wait another 45mins for John Legend to come out. Needless to say, my feet were killing me. I had intended to buy a pair of comfortable shoes on my way but I had no time to stop. My sister had it worse as she had on high heels. She was holding on to the railing and this BITCH (the one from the box office) turned back and said “why are you holding on?” my sister who is the most clam, nicest person ever simply said “because my feet hurts.” If she asked me that shit I would have … I dunno what I would have done!

Finally, John Legend came out at about 9 or 9:15pm. He opened with “Heaven” I was jumping up and down and singing along. Since John only has 2 albums so far and I own*** them both and listen all the time, I knew all the words and was singing along. As soon as he started singing “Where did my baby go” my brother-in-law tapped my sister and was like we can leave after this song. I was sad, but happy they could make it and stay this long. My boyfriend and I stayed till the end of the show.

It was a really good show, but the worst concert going experience. The Artist kept us waiting way too long. I have been to a few concerts even concerts at small venues but this was horrible. I saw Disturbed at a small venue and they did not keep us waiting and it was an awesome show. Dave Matthews Band were not divas like John Legend to keep us waiting. Even the best SADE did not keep me waiting. Well, my sister has said it, no more John Legend shows for her. I will have to think about that one, it was a great show but I could barely walk to my car after the show.

Break in case of emergency

So we girls always have a guy or a bunch of guys we can fall back on. As I get older I think about getting married and settling down. There is always a guy I can say well as I am getting old I will have to break this glass and marry so and so. But not I am seeing that this is getting impossible.

Almost all the guys I have in my little glass are all getting married or finding the love of their life. No more love for Zeyi, they are over her, they have found their love.

It is not like I don’t like these guys but am not in love with them. I feel one day when I feel ...umm I need to get married... I can just break that glass and pull out that guy and fall in love with him and get married.

Maybe this is all rubbish and God forbid I have to settle.

The D

I love the D. I saw Tenacious D:POD on Wednesday. It was such a good movie and it rocked my fucking socks off. I got the soundtrack last week and cannot stop listening to it. I was rocking along with the D at the movies.

I love that KG is more of the dominant one in the movie. JB is usually pushing him around, telling him what songs rock, and how to play.

If you are not a fan of the D, don't worry as long as you love rock, funny stuff, and musicals, then you will love this movie.

Taiwo?!

Seal named his baby Taiwo, which is a twin name or am I wrong? This is stupid to name your child Taiwo when there is no Kehinde.

Red Meat - Breast Cancer

I am so sick of all the news coming out this week about eating red meat raises the risk of beast cancer!!!. You can read about it here. I LOVE eating red meat; it is one of my favorite foods to eat. Now I have people calling me to tell me this bad news and how I have to watch it. I say I don't care, but I do.

I think it's all the crap that goes into the red meat here. I mean the meat I used to eat from back home was not USDA approved or whatever but it was better tasting and very good for you.

Come ‘on! I am just so pissed off about this. I know I only have to cut down on the amount of red meat I eat, but there is no substitute. Ahh.... I guess I can eat salmon, oh well... that's my rant for now.

Colin Hay

Thanks to the movie Garden State I discovered Colin Hay again. He used to be in the band "Men At Work". Remember the songs "Down Under" and "Who Can It Be Now?" yes that group. Well I was listening to the Garden stated soundtrack and heard the song "I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over you" and just fell in love. The song is so beautiful and sad. I love sad songs, they say so much. So I decided to get Colin Hay's new album “Going Somewhere”. It is absolutely amazing! I cannot stop listening to this album. It's a shame that music like this are not longer heard on radio. Thank God I have Sirius, at least I get to hear all kinds of music from all over the world (mostly, I am usually listening to Howard).

Traveling!

Traveling is something I love to do but with work and not much money I don't get to. I am so envious of people who get to travel. I like that high I get when I am about to travel or when planning a trip.

I wish I was a rich girl. I would travel everyday. Buy a jet plane, every day a new city. Awww, a girl can dream can't see.

John Legend

I feel so inspired listening to John Legend's new album “Once Again”. The song "Again" brings out so many emotions in me, I am happy, I am sad, I am loved, I am crying, just crazy. The lyrics of his songs are so simple yet so compelling. I love the piano playing on all the songs; make me wish I didn’t quit my piano lessons. This is such a great album. I have read a few reviews comparing this album to his last “Get Lifted”. These are two absolutely different albums. I like that this new albums show what else he can do. He did not just go back to the formula that worked so well for him on the first album.

It will be rubbish to rate the songs on this album.

It has been a long time since I listened to an entire album and didn’t skip a song. Well, not since “Get Lifted” actually.

Lost and Mr. Eko

I am watching the show Lost and loving Mr. Eko more and more. What I love the most about this show is watching the Lost character's stories. I love Mr. Eko's story the most because, well, he is Nigerian. I am happy they picked Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje to play the part of Mr. Eko. He is a great actor and I have loved him since OZ.

Mr. Eko is a Nigerian Thug whose brother was killed of his own doing. Now lost on the very same Island where the plane carrying his brother and his stash has crashed, he is having a hard time.

It is so weird that I started writing this last night and Mr. Eko is dead. I lost my will to write how much I love him now that he is gone. At least he went out fighting as usual. I look forward to the next Adewale project.
