Fun Times

My friend come down from New Jersey for the weekend. We had a blast. On Friday night we went to Las Olas with a friend from work.
I dance with a French guy and he is so HOT!!! He had an Asian face and when I was dancing with him, he said i am not American and my English is not so good. I said no problem, we don't have to talk, he then said, guess what I am, I said I don't know, tell me, he said I am French. I am sure he has used this line a lot of time, because even I fell for it, I said wow! that is sooo cool. I was pretty smashed at this time. He was sooooo cute.

I told him I had to leave and when we got to the garage he showed up, I ran into the elevator but he caught my friend and asked "is your friend gone." She started calling for me, I said hellz no, lets go, I was hiding. I was holding up the elevator and the people inside were starting to scream. So one of the girls in the elevator went to get my friend. My friend didn't end up getting all the number from the handsome French guy.

It was a great night. I usually don't get to go out and have from with my friends like that. I look forward to doing it more often. Jon was pretty jealous when I told him about the French guy. I added "You are so lucky I am such a loyal girlfriend, when else am I gonna met a French dude, with Asian face."

Vampire Weekend

I saw Vampire Weekend last night. It was an amazing show. The music was a little different live and that just how I like it. The opening band "Harlem Sharks" were not so bad either.
I will definitely go back to a Vampire Weekend show and I hope they come back to SoFla. We love you :)

Wii Fit Mii

I got the Wii Fit yesterday, configured and played a few games. I have already unlocked a few other games. My whole reason for buying the Wii in the first place was so I can play the Fit. When I first saw the demo for the fit, I was blown away. I though maybe, just maybe this is the thing to get me off my ass and do some activities. I hate working out, but when I think of it as a game and a competition, I get motivated.

I am very impressed with the Fit, I do have to buy a mat for the Fir board as we have carpet and it doesn't read accurately.

Continuing Education

I am going to be taking some PHP/MYsql classes this summer. I really should just get a book and read it but I feel better with someone telling me how it works rather than reading about it. I guess my brain works in a different way. Maybe with my new found PHP skills I can help out with creating some useful tools at work, contribute to this position.

So I received my stimulus check today. I will be paying my bills with this money, not buy the new shoes or handbag. I feel stimulated :)

I like to watch

I love movies!!! I watch at least two new movies a week, and that is on a bad week. The past two weeks have been awesome. Two of my most anticipated movies came out and I got to see them.

I really loved Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. I did not see that movie at the theater but when I first saw it with a bunch of friends at home, I thought it was one of the funniest movies ever! So when rumors started about a sequel, I was very excited! I am happy to say I really enjoyed the sequel Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. I cannot stop saying "cock meat sandwich!!!" It was not as good as the first movie but I really enjoyed it.

Then I saw Iron Man. The best super hero movie ever made. Yes, even better than the original Superman. It was brilliant. I have no complains, there was no continuity error. It was as close to perfection as a movie can get. Robert Downey Jr. is the best! the R8 was so sexy in this move, I cannot say enough.

Stupid at Work

I don't know how much longer I can take this IT thing, both with TS and maint. People call about the most annoying things. This lady called me three times, and the last time she could not type in any numbers and felt this was due to our website. I advised her umm NO, I can log in and asked her to use the numbers on top of the letters (breaking it down) and she said oh there it goes! I wanted to shoot someone; she called because her num lock was off and felt it was our site. I mean common sense would say since I cannot enter the numbers maybe I should try all the numbers on my KB first then call and accuse the company.
There is a man that works with us at the company. Every day he calls me about 5 times, I have to remote into his PC almost daily, eating up valuable time. I know it is part of my job, but if someone cannot figure out how to save an attached excel file OMFG!!!

That's my brief rant! HELP ME!!!

I Am In Love With Karnivool

We went to a concert on Friday and I was thinking I only like 1 band out of the 4 playing but I will have to stay through 2 shitty bands to get to see them. The arena was crappy too, I hate Revolutions! Anyways, the show was supposed to start at 7pm door open at 6pm and it was raining. So we get there at 7:30 and no one was in the door yet. Finally we go in at 8:15pm. I had to return my umbrella to the car because they wouldn't let me take it in. I could use it as a weapon. We wait about another 30mins and the first band comes on start. OMG, I was in love.

The lead singer is something out of this world. I have never seen someone sing with such passion for his music. He was so fascinated by the moshing that he stopped singing for a second. When a band can appreciate the audience like that, ahhh I am in love. So they do about 5 or 6 songs and go off stage. They were so good. Ian Kenny's (lead singer I am in love with - Ian is the one in the sunglasses above - he is not really my type but he will be for the next few days or months) voice is so beautiful and he is a great performer.

Later that night, when the head liner (nonpoint) was playing, I went to the back so I could get a better view of the band. When I came back to my spot, I saw Ian standing there, next to my boyfriend. I couldn't believe it, he was right next to me, my love. So I tapped him on the shoulder and gave him a thumb up and he put his hands together in a praying position and then put out his hand for a shake. OMG!!! I shook his hands and he then pointed at the mosh pit and shook his head, I smiled and nodded yes. We were standing next to the speakers, so me talking wouldn't have mattered, plus I later found out he was wearing ear plugs.

He was so down to earth. He stood next to me for a while just watching the mosh pit (we had the best view)

The guy next to me was such a jerk. He kept smoking and then throwing his cigarette butts into the mosh pit. He also drank about 10 to 15 beers. He would drink until the cup is almost empty, then he would fling his cup with the rest of the beer into the mosh pit.

The mosh pit was a fucking zoo, full of crazy animals. I wouldn't have made it and I am happy I didn't go into the mosh because of the asshole next to me. I would have gotten my hair all stinky from beer or burnt from his cigarette butt.

I am so in love with Ian Kenny, to Love him is to see him play! I am getting the album and listening non stop until my crush dies down.

Love Love Love Love Love Love Love

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.

In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.

You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please.

Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything... no secrets.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.

In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily.

Kurt Vonnegut

I am not sure why, but I have this really sad feeling deep inside me because of Kurt Vonnegut's death. I always knew this day would come but it was very unexpected. Yes he was 84, yes he was very successful, yes he was the best Author ever but I never got to meet him. I really would have loved to meet him. I have read a few of his books and my favorite by far is Slaughterhouse-Five. I am more of a chick lit person, but Vonnegut's books always make me think and question the things around me, laugh really hard, and I always get so involved with the character.

He was an amazing writer and will be missed.

A Sample.

I was those seeds,
I am this meat,
This meat hates pain,
This meat must eat.
This meat must sleep,
This meat must dream,
This meat must laugh,
This meat must scream,
But when as meat,
It's had it's fill
Please plant it as
A Daffodil

SADE!!!

According to Stuart Matthewman, "there will be a new Sade album before there is a new Sweetback album." When I heard this news via Mad Thinka with the yahoo Sade group (great group btw), I had the best day ever at work. Even when I have people who were not very happy, I had a smile on my face just thinking about the new album. Just the fact that there is HOPE that Sade might record and tour again makes me so happy. I would pay anything to see them live again. Great show!

Once again

So John Legend is coming back down here. This time he is coming with Corinne Bailey Rae. I really would like to go BUT after the drama at the last one and seeing how much it cost for tix, I said umm no!

However, I really would love to see Robin Thicke again. He was the opening act last time and now that he is making it big, I would love to see him ringing in a big way. He did not have room to run around and jump. I got his album after the last concert, and I must say, I really like a lot of the songs on it. I think the lyrics need some work, but something special.

H. Stern

I am a huge fan of the Howard Stern show. The picture to the left is just a little of what makes the show so great. To many people this does not seem funny, but to me it is so funny. Artie Lange's Grandma Caprio. She always has good advise for a grandson who never listens.

This is so true about me:
You scored as Jin. You are an old member of a Korean Mafia. Although you seem to be a clod blooded hard working antisociopath, you have the heart of a true lover. You are loyal to your wife even sacrificed your own life for hers.

Could this really be me?

You scored as Satanism. Your beliefs most closely resemble those of Satanism! Before you scream, do a bit of research on it. To be a Satanist, you don't actually have to believe in Satan. Satanism generally focuses upon the spiritual advancement of the self, rather than upon submission to a deity or a set of moral codes. Do some research if you immediately think of the satanic cult stereotype. Your beliefs may also resemble those of earth-based religions such as paganism.

It is 2007 and ...

Happy New Year to everyone! I had a great New Years Eve. It was very low key; I stayed home with friends and family. We ate, we drank (the most important part), we laughed, we yelled, we watched TV, we argued about technology, the ipod vs. Creative Zen and XM vs. Sirius.

It was a great night and a night to remember. How was your New Years?

What da cold!

I have the worst cold right now. There is a bug going around and I just so happen to have caught it. I was at work yesterday and all of a sudden I got this hitch in my throat and ears. I knew I was gonna be sick, so I got some wal-borne (Walgreen’s airborne knock off) from a friend and prayed to God I don’t get it. By the time I went to bed last night it was awful. I was sneezing, coughing, and just disgusted.

I am still living with the cold now and it hurts more than anything. The most upsetting part is that today is our office Christmas party and I could not eat because of this cold!

Ups and Down At the John Legend Concert

So I had this all planned out. I knew I had to go to work on the day of the concert and had requested to leave early. I would leave early, get to the venue early, and get in early so I have a nice spot to watch John sing, since it was a general admission event.

I left work at 5pm and headed down. The Traffic was horrible; make me appreciate my regular work schedule of 11am to 8pm. It took me an hour and half to get down to the venue, which was at most 20miles from work. I was still driving at 6:00pm when my boyfriend called me and told me he was on his way.

All the time driving down I was on the phone talking to my sister, who was already at the venue holding a spot for all us late comers. Then I got to the parking garage and it was cash only!!! WTF!!! I had no cash on me, so I headed to the other parking garage closer to the event (it ended up been cheaper to park there than the one I went to at first). On my way walking to the even I saw my brother-in-law who was going to park his car.

I finally got to the venue and picked up my ticked at the box office (another huge problem, thanks to ticket masters, those thieving a**holes), and ran into someone who would make the night an even worse experience. I saw my sister and was sooo happy she was there and happy about how close to the front of the line we were. We were chatting when her husband came to meet us. This was about 6:30pm when the show was supposed to start, when my boyfriend called again and said he was stuck in traffic and will be there shortly. We waited about 30mins and them he arrived, I was so happy he came too because this is not his favorite kind of music. So I am really excited now and angry because its 7:15 and we are not in yet on a work night (I know am old). Finally at about 7:25 they started letting us in. We got in and picked a spot close to the stage. Well guess who was right in front of us? The woman from the box office! Apparently she was on John Legend’s list. I was soooo hungry! And had no cash and I was not about to pay 4 bucks for taking cash out of their ATM. My boyfriend was so sweet or maybe just sick of my bitching about been hungry; he took money out of the ATM for me. I didn’t end up buying anything but saved the money for parking.

We stand around for another 30mins and then Robin Thicke comes on as the opening act. First let me say that if I knew that Robin Thicke was coming with John to the South Florida show I would have made different plans. I like Robin Thicke, I love his song “when I get you alone” but I would have come in late and made my way to the front. He was really good and I see why they always compare him to Justin Timberlake. He is really cute in person and was dancing and rocking hard! He even broke his piano from rocking so hard. Robin was on for about 30mins and then we had to wait another 45mins for John Legend to come out. Needless to say, my feet were killing me. I had intended to buy a pair of comfortable shoes on my way but I had no time to stop. My sister had it worse as she had on high heels. She was holding on to the railing and this BITCH (the one from the box office) turned back and said “why are you holding on?” my sister who is the most clam, nicest person ever simply said “because my feet hurts.” If she asked me that shit I would have … I dunno what I would have done!

Finally, John Legend came out at about 9 or 9:15pm. He opened with “Heaven” I was jumping up and down and singing along. Since John only has 2 albums so far and I own*** them both and listen all the time, I knew all the words and was singing along. As soon as he started singing “Where did my baby go” my brother-in-law tapped my sister and was like we can leave after this song. I was sad, but happy they could make it and stay this long. My boyfriend and I stayed till the end of the show.

It was a really good show, but the worst concert going experience. The Artist kept us waiting way too long. I have been to a few concerts even concerts at small venues but this was horrible. I saw Disturbed at a small venue and they did not keep us waiting and it was an awesome show. Dave Matthews Band were not divas like John Legend to keep us waiting. Even the best SADE did not keep me waiting. Well, my sister has said it, no more John Legend shows for her. I will have to think about that one, it was a great show but I could barely walk to my car after the show.
